Weekend Picnics

Established in Winter 2025, Hawkes Farm weekend picnic events (every Saturday and Sunday 9am – 4pm) have become a firm favourite for Peninsula locals, Melbourne day-trippers, country Victoria folk, interstate and international visitors alike. There's a sandpit for little ones and a large picnic lawn for families and friends to pitch a rug.
Featuring all the 'Best of Local' Farm Market fare – and delicious drinks and food from our Farm Kitchen and Coffee Bar – the picnic events celebrate Peninsula collaborators such as Rhino Tiger Bear.
The Dromana family winemakers are present every weekend, explaining the intricacies of their small-parcel wines and serving seasonal ranges to Hawkes visitors – extending to spiced caramel mulled wine by the firepit on colder weekends, and Hawkes strawberry spritz alongside a Jetty Road Brewery collaboration Pale Ale on warmer weekends.
Rhino Tiger Bear also serve their seasonal wines and specials when Hawkes runs its famous Friday Night burger nights from the Farm Kitchen (bookings only). The beef patties are from Bird Rock Farm, with bacon from Hawkes x St Andrews Beach Brewery collab Truemans Meat Co. All served in fresh buns – baked at Hawkes – by Peninsula Pantry, with Hawkes potato fries.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the Farm Kitchen serves Hawkes potato thrice-cooked hot chips, while the Coffee Bar has a veritable smorgasbord of locally produced goodies – some from the very paddock in which it stands.
Loaded baked potatoes, baguettes and croque monsieur with Truemans Meat Co ham, mushroom (vegie) toasties, Little Rebel coffees, Peninsula Pantry sweets and pastries (baked on site fresh daily), Johnny Ripe and Hidden Kitchen Tootgarook sausage rolls and pies, 7apples gelato, Hawkes strawberry smoothies and other soft drinks.
On Sundays, Peninsula Fresh Seafood joins the picnic party (10am – 2:30pm), serving oysters to be enjoyed on the picnic lawn with Rhino Tiger Bear white, spritz or sparkling!
